Apple Eyes Chinese Mobile Market

Apple Eyes Chinese Mobile Market

In a recent report, it has been revealed that there has been a deal struck between China Telecom and Apple Inc. for selling iPhones in China. The main reason for striking this deal is boosting the sales of the product in the most blossoming mobile phone market in the world. They want to be able to get a strong hold in the Chinese markets.

It has been revealed that the Chinese firm has previously held long negotiation rounds with Apple, before this decision was reached. There is a hitch that the company is accustomed to using the TD-SCDMA technology which is not a part of the Apple regimen. It is looking forward to using the 4G TD-LTE technology that is going to be launched by the end of this year or in the next year.

This shall definitely become a great way to strike a comprehensive and co -relational deal with the giant Apple. "The deal is bound to boost iPhone sales, but telecom operators won't be giving up the mid- and low-tier Smartphone market, and sales of those phones will still be quite strong”, revealed Jane Wang, an analyst from Ovum from Beijing.

It was also revealed further that even though China Telecom had a value of more than $46 billion, it still was the third of the largest mobile carrier companies in the country.

The firm was of the view that it shall increase the marketing strategies after the launch of the 4S version of the iPhone. This would help in gaining long term stability and profit for the company, but might tend to have an impact in the short term profits that are earned by the company.
