Leaving behind all the previous controversies and rivalries, recently the Igbo leaders have requested for streamlining of the polity into a truly federal state.

The leaders further asserted that these polity procedures would be successfully continued till the next round of 2015 elections ends. The polity basically means a form of government or organization of a state, church, society or a constitution etc.

However, many leaders gave criticizing statements against the background of Senator Uche Chukwumerije's and Boko Haram because they believed that both the leaders had a very bad record as their planned rebellion which were supposed to be an important part of the North's agendas targeted just to detain the presidency in 2015.

On the other hand, sharing his views about the issue, Evagenlist Elliot Ukoh, the National President of Igbo Youths Movement, commented that if the country was not modernized according to the requirements of the beginning fathers, then soon the day will come when whole of the Nigerian identity will certainly get into an incurable disastrous situation.

He added, ''Nigeria came into existence through its regional structure. It was during 1966 crises in the North when Igbo were killed everywhere that Gowon asked for emergency powers through the obnoxious Decree 34".
